DAY 01: Arrival
Upon your arrival staff member of Remarkable Tears Safari will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport. From here you will be driven to the Hotel in Arusha and briefed on your upcoming safari. Enjoy a restful night before beginning your adventure tomorrow. Day 02: Arusha - Ngorongoro Crater
An early breakfast, then depart for a drive to Ngorongoro Crater. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. It is not a national park in the strict sense of the word but was rather established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It exists to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism. Accommodation: And Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge Meal plan: Full board
Day 03: Ngorongoro - Serengeti National park
Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains, it’s one of Tanzania's oldest and most popular national parks. A UNESCO world heritage site and recently proclaimed as the 7th wonder of the world. Serengeti offers an exotic game viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you an up-close look of the animals you've only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, thousands of elands, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. Day 04 & 05: Full day game drive North Serengeti
After an early breakfast depart for an amazing game drive, head north of Serengeti for a game drive in the wilderness tracking the Great migration trails. Witness a million wildebeests, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 miles) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north. Day 06: North Serengeti
Serengeti National Park, Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, however, from July to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. Spend a full day in north Serengeti mostly exploring the Migration (There's an option of doing a Hot Air Balloon at this area for an additional cost.) The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note - actually finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. Accommodation: Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge Meal plan: Full board
Day 07: Departure
Morning game viewing en route to Kogatende Airstrip for your flight to Arusha that will depart at 10:30 am, and arrive at 12:30 pm at Arusha Airport. You will be met and greeted by our transfer guide who will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch up with your home flight.
