This Tanzania Budget Camping Safari explores three of the top game parks on the Northern Safari Circuit – Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
Our wildlife adventure starts with a short tour briefing in Arusha, before we set off southwest toward our first Tanzanian game viewing destination, Tarangire National Park.
Day 01: Arusha - Tarangire National park
Depart Arusha and begin driving toward Tarangire, Tanzania’s third largest national park and bolthole for an unusually large elephant population. Sublime baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park, exceeding the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Lunch boxes will be provided at the picnic point. Enjoy a game drive, then dinner and an overnight at the Camp
Day 02: Tarangire - Serengeti National park
Enjoy breakfast, then drive to Serengeti National Park passing the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. Your driver will stop at Ngorongoro so that you can experience the amazing view overlooking the crater. Then, continue to Olduvai Gorge, the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world. A picnic lunch will be provided followed by continual game viewing until you reach the Camp for an overnight.
Day 03: Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater
Morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, an area which is home to a large amassing of animals including: Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Wildebeests, Zebras, Leopards, Cheetahs, Warthogs and Hyenas in addition to a massive mishmash of bird life. Migrations also take place here where millions of wildebeest and zebra interlace together and evade predators. A picnic lunch is provided inside the park followed by a drive to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for an overnight at the Camp.
Day 04: Ngorongoro - Arusha
Ngorongoro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. Descend 600 meters down into the crater floor for game viewing. You can expect to see many animals including: Black Rhinos, Lions, Zebras, Wildebeest, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Leopards as well as an abundant mishmash of birdlife including: Pelicans and Flamingos, Turacles and Fire Finches. In the afternoon, ascend the crater wall and drive back to Arusha for your flight back home
